CBN To Build Five-Star Hostel, Other Facilities Worth Billions Of Naira For UNILAG

The Central Bank of Nigeria will in the next four years construct a link road, multi-storey faculty building and ultra-modern hostel in the University of Lagos, Akoka. This according to the apex bank is in furtherance of its social intervention policy.
This is evident of the determination by the top bank to deliver on its promise, following a top level meeting between its officials and the UNILAG authorities last month.
Heavy-duty machines have been sighted deployed into the swampy area within the university environment to open up an access from St. Finbarrs Road, in Bariga Local Council Development Area, LCDA, to the institution. The road, it was learnt, would reduce traffic at the university’s main gate as well as provide quicker entry from the Bariga axis.
The multi-billion naira project project, awarded to Quintec Construction Limited, comprises an eight-storey Faculty building and a seven-storey five-star hostel. The hostel would have 100 and 50 single and double occupancy rooms respectively, gym, laundry, restaurant and rooftop relaxation facility, among others.
